Homework

June

Parents: It is always a good idea to have your children read over the summer break. Research shows that students who read 5 or more books over the course of summer break, retain more information when school starts in September than those who don't. Reading books aloud forces students to focus on pronunciation, which helps increase phonics and decoding skills. It only takes about 20 minutes of time each day to improve reading skills.
If you would like to help increase comprehension skills, ask your child about the story he/she has read. Simple questions like who is the main character, where does the story take place or what problems are faced in the story, will help your child retain more information and increase his/her memory.

Please note that the homework listed is for my classes only.

Spelling words: No more spelling words for the remainder of the year!
